Let's suppose you opened a worksheet(Guided Derivation Problem.gex) and
find problem like below!
Gebra can easily find the solution of this kind of problems, but to
practise and improve your math skills we suggest to follow us below. In
this example we will demonstrate through an example how you can use the
Gebra software to get the result step by step.
Steps:
Click on the formula to select.
Click the Solution step-by-step icon on the
right side to invoke the formula editing panel, this will help you to
place your modifications.
Select the whole equation and write the first step of the
derivation into the text box on the panel. In this example use
derivation rule of the composite function (chain rule). When the
selected equation and the typed one are equal then the background color
turns green.
Press the Apply button on the right side of the text box. Now
you have just done one step toward the solution.
Next select the part of the formula where the derivative is not yet calculated.
Enter the derivative of the selected part. The background of the input field turns green indicating the good result.
We get the final result after some small rearrangement with the
mouse: you can drag and drop any part of the equation for example
changing the order of the tags of the product.
Tip:
At any point when you get stuck and you don't know what to do you can
click on 'show hints' to get possibilities for the next step. Note that
you still need to decide which hint is appropriate to apply.
Alternatively you can also get the complete solution by clicking the Complete Solution button.
