In this tutorial we will deal with how to import data points from a
simple CSV text file and fit a function to the points.
If you want to know more about the general usage of diagrams click here.
The filename of this worksheet is Fit curve on points.
Let's see the steps:
Place a diagram on the workspace
Select the diagram and push down the import icon on the left
panel, it will invoke a open dialog.
Select the file you want to import and click on the open button (we will select 'Tutorial/Linear.txt' right now).
Note: Gebra can import text files with tab separation between the
points. If you have the data points in any spreadsheet then try to
export into tab separated text file, most of the spreadsheet software
are able to do that.
Press the Fit Curve button on the right vertical sidebar. A popup
menu will appear and you can select the fitting function (linear,
quadratic, etc.)
Tip: In the legend you can manually overwrite the parameters of the
fitted curves.
